Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Tonite Gonzalez-Collins is a Mexican American journalist. She currently works for ESPN as a reporter for SportsCenter as well as occasionally hosting SportsNation. In 2016, she was a part of ESPN. She is the daughter of the television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. Since she was nine years old, Collins's capacity to converse in two languages helped her get the job she wanted in Miami as an assistant producer for Univision. Aside from this she also co-hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She was a host of sports on the morning show of Despierta America Deportes. The anchor also worked in the same capacity as the show's magazine Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents are from Veracruz Mexico. The girl was born on November 22nd on the 22nd of October, 1985, in Mexico City. She also has an older sibling. Her family left in 1992 Mexico and relocated to Miami. In 1992, her parents divorced and shortly afterward in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo, a naval engineer who passed away in the year 2006 due to kidney cancer. While on a vacation Antonietta was staying at the house of her sister Canton Ohio. Her older Collins sibling had recently gotten a new job. Antonietta was a senior high school student, but she had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University in order to see if it was a good fit for her. As it turned out she loved the campus and that they had the degree she was searching for. After graduation, she attended the university with a major in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor was also the station manager at WRMU (91.1 FM) in which she was a part of. Professor Bergmann was a great influence on her with his enthusiasm for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
